Orange, Firecell, and Miodex launch the first industrial 5G trial on an Airbus Atlantic site.

The GEO5G solution, deployed through a private 5G network provided by Orange, promises precise object location in an industrial environment and real-time data flow management for total control and unparalleled traceability. Combining their expertise, Orange, Miodex, and Firecell are collaborating to test this solution on an Airbus Atlantic site. The tests, scheduled for the second half of 2024, initially aim to geolocate tools, thereby optimizing assembly teams’ time and efficiency. Airbus Development is providing funding to Miodex to accelerate the project.

This initiative represents a major advance in location and data flow management, paving the way for a new era. The expected results have generated significant enthusiasm for the potential advancements of the GEO5G solution in optimizing industrial processes.

François Jezequel, Business and Development Director at Orange: “We have long been convinced of the potential of 5G for the digital transformation of companies, and this project, designed in open innovation with our partners, is a prime example.”

Laurent Legendre, Regional Director Ile de France Airbus Development: “Convinced of the significant benefits of industrial 5G, we are proud to support this project that will be tested on one of the group’s sites. This project is innovative and creates value.”

Olivier Dhotel, Co-founder of Firecell: “The integration of 5G in the industrial sector will greatly increase production flexibility and promote automation. It will lead to a significant improvement in productivity and quality. We are eager to demonstrate these advantages and benefits with Airbus.”

Cyrille Mielczarek, General Director of Miodex: “Geolocation, operation traceability, and data security represent major challenges for the industrial sector. We are enthusiastic about testing this integrated solution that fully meets their strategic requirements.”
