Discover how our support
& maintenance compare

We have defined 2 levels of support and maintenance adapted to our client needs. All customers with an active Gold or Platinum package have access to all software upgrades and updates, including new features. Our support team is available for real time support to help our Platinum customers from Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm CET.

Either Platinum or Gold support and maintenance package is mandatory for the first year.

The deployment of a private network is composed of two main components:

  • The Core Network is in charge of network management, data traffic routing and user management, authentication and encryption.
  • The Radio Access Network (RAN) is in charge of the air interface management. The RAN schedules the transmission of IP packets from the Core Network to the radios, and receives IP packets from devices via the radios, forwarding them to the Core Network.

1 SDR and 2 Antennas

Firecell Labkit is delivered with 1 Software Defined Radio (SDR) which supports 4G, and 5G in all sub-6 GHz bands, TDD and FDD. It comes with 2 antennas that perform best between 1,7 GhZ and 5GhZ. The signal reaches up to 3 meters (~10 feet).

A product appreciated by our clients

"I would definitely recommend the 4G & 5G Labkit, for the same reason it was recommended to me: It’s useful, affordable and quick to set up. The support that firecell provides is essential, we had a training session and support with the technical team afterwards”

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is the 4G/5G Labkit for?
R&D engineers, IT Managers, Innovation Managers, University Professors, Researchers, etc.
What can you do with the 4G/5G Labkit?
You want to test 4G / 5G use cases in your lab, make live demonstrations with an easy plug & play setup, test your devices with a 3GPP compliant mini 5G network, teach your students about 4G / 5G, develop your own extensions or applications on top of the Firecell network.
How easy is it to set up?
The Firecell Labkit can be set up in 15mn when following Firecell user guide.
For which spectrum? Do I need to get a license?
The Firecell LabKit is for use in a lab. Its max output power is 10 mW. It will not radiate outside the walls of the laboratory and therefore you need not apply for spectrum allocation. To avoid interference, we would suggest that you use a band not used by MNOs or other users in your area (for instance Band 40 TDD in Europe, as this band is essentially used by MNOs in Asia).
Is a Faraday Cage required for installation?
A Faraday Cage is not required either and almost none of our clients use them. It may be needed if you want to test the same bands as the ones from telecom companies (and you are in a place where their signal is strong), or in places where there is a lot of interference, e.g. in a tradeshow.
What devices are compatible?
All unlocked 4G devices are compatible with Firecell Labkit 4G mode.
All unlocked 5G devices are compatible with Firecell Labkit 5G NSA mode
Following 5G devices have been tested with Firecell Labkit 5G SA mode: Simcom SIMCOM8200EA, Quectel RM500Q-GL, OnePlus 8 (with PLMN 00101), Huawei P40 and P40 Pro, Google Pixel 5G.
How many devices can I connect to 4G/5G Labkit ?
The labkit is configured by default for a maximum of 16 x 4G users or 10 x 5G users. N.B.: Labkit comes with 1 smartphone.
Does 4G/5G Labkit include an open source software version?
The Firecell 4G/5G Labkit includes a compiled version of the code as well as the source code of both Core and RAN. Proprietary Firecell extensions (GUI, Operation & Maintenance) are not delivered as open source.
How can I benefit from the features that I see coming up later in your roadmap?
Our mandatory Support & Maintenance contract allows you to upgrade the system as soon as the latest version is available. The latest source code and distributions are available through your Gitlab access.
What do I get from Firecell that I cannot get from OAI?
You get a pre-integrated, fully functional, fully tested and documented Private Network in both 4G and 5G.
